Gemmo Impianti Spa, an historical customer of Elettroingross

The rebirth of the Phoenix

On the evening of 29th January 1996 a devastating fire destroys La Fenice Opera House in Venice, one of the most beautiful theatres in the world, with an extraordinary acoustics and the protagonist since its inauguration in 1792 of the Italian and European opera, musical and cultural life.
Faithful to its previous aspect, the reconstruction of this historical theatre has renewed the myth of the name it bears, the phoenix, the sacred bird able to revive from its ashes every five hundreds years each time more beautiful and pure. And in fact on the evening of 14th December 2003 the theatre has been officially given back to the town with a solemn inauguration concert played by its own Chorus and Orchestra in the presence of the President of the Italian Republic.

Gemmo Impianti Spa participated in the reconstruction of the theatre and was called upon to create all the electrical and special systems in the building, ranging from those devoted to safety (fire prevention, intrusion prevention, supervision and control), to those for theatrical production (intercom, audio, video).

Customer of Elettroingross since 1979, the Gemmo Group, with over 1000 employees in Italy and abroad, operates since 1919 in the most advanced fields of technological systems and facility management for the industrial and civil buildings. It provides all necessary support in the project implementation, from the feasibility study to construction, start up, operation and management over the years.

We started work in March 2002 and we completed our activity punctually in July 2004' says Gemmo's project manager. This supported by the wide stock availability of the central warehouse of Elettroingross in Padova and the logistic competence of the branch in Marghera, in the Venetian mainland. The electrical material we have installed - switches, plugs, pvc tubes, lighting fittings, boxes, cables and the marvellous chandelier for the sala Rossi - has been delivered almost daily directly in the yard by an articulated and punctual logistic service both by land and by sea, together with the competence and technical knowledge supplied by a solid partner like Elettroingross.

The phoenix has risen again and La Fenice is going to open its doors to the public this month with "La Traviata", the opera Verdi opened right in the Venetian theatre.
