A highly trained, motivated, dedicated team
Cássio Omura, Sonepar Brazil
Cássio Omura, Sales & Marketing Director at Dimensional Equipamentos Elétricos, is one of many São Paulo executives who have left the big city in search of a higher quality of life in the countryside. He found that and more in Limeira, 156 km from São Paulo, where Dimensional has its headquarters. But above all, it was a key step in a successful career.

Cássio joined the company in 2000 as a sales manager in charge of Key Accounts. He then moved on to six different positions before becoming director. He currently heads the sales, marketing and IT teams. “My aim is to help grow our Connectivity and Electrical Equipment businesses, while maintaining our profitable focus on service and automation for industrial customers,” he explained.
Sonepar: Dimensional is an unusual breed of distributor today, due to its structure, service offering and constant quest for innovation and new technology. What’s the secret to your success? C.O. : Our staff. We have one of the best teams in the business, made up of highly trained, motivated, dedicated people. To reach that kind of professional quality, we invested heavily in training and feedback to our teams. We also have an excellent HR department that identifies, selects and motivates our personnel.
Sonepar: The company has been performing quite well, with sales on the rise in 2008. What in your opinion has made that possible? C.O.: Our people, of course, as well as a sound policy of offering a more complete product range, a new approach to our main suppliers and a major effort to get our customers to view us as more than just a company distributing automation products. Sonepar: What trends do you foresee for the Brazilian economy in 2009? C.O.: A weaker U.S. dollar and the resulting scarcity of resources available for new investment in Brazil are a source of worry, even though we believe that Brazil will be spared to a certain extent. At the same time, two factors may well work in our favor. The lack of investment could generate new opportunities for our MRO business. In addition, the companies that can offer the best service and solutions during hard times stand out from the crowd and gain market share.
