Sonepar Canada concerned about unsafe offshore products
|
In 2006, the electrical distribution industry saw an influx of offshore products (mainly from Asia) that were inexpensive but often fell short on quality. This created growing concerns for manufacturers, distributors and contractors alike, since these products may lack the testing and approval from national safety agencies. Sonepar Canada has joined a nationwide mandate to support safety and to give a clear definition of quality products to customers through our support of proven brands. These brands carry peace of mind for building professionals, since reputable manufacturers invest in testing over and above national standards to ensure the quality of their brand, therefore reducing the contractors’ risk and liability. For this reason, Sonepar Canada has made educating our customers about these potentially faulty products a commitment that will continue as long as these items are present in the Canadian marketplace.
