Building work has been ongoing for two years. The central warehouse had reached the point of not being able to accommodate new titles and the old cash & carry shop at its side had ceased to be sufficient for the amount of customers. This construction work also gave an ideal opportunity to ease the congested office life by creating new quarters for Vantaa sales office above the new Tuupakka cash & carry shop premises.
Central warehouse comprises an additional 4,000 square metres of heated warehousing space. In its entirety SLO's central warehouse currently totals 20 000 square metres. The enlargement enables not only relocation of warehouse functions but also a significant increase in warehousing capacity. For their part, SLO's customers have given an enthusiastic reception for the new shop premises. The availability of 20,000 titles and speedy delivery remains this SLO sales point's most significant attraction for its customers.
With these investments SLO intends to further develop the logistic chain of its operations; to offer suppliers an even more efficient distribution channel and to safeguard the SLO customer promises in the future too.
