Sonelight or how do we better follow orders and deliveries Dan Kelly, Mehl Electric, USA
Sonelight is a project management service available within ElekNet, Sonepar USA’s online order entry system. ElekNet helps to automate the procurement process—from bidding, order entry and inventory tracking to shipping and billing. Within ElekNet, users have online access to detailed projects and order information in real time, creating increased accountability, accuracy and efficiency at every step along the supply chain. For the end users—general contractors, electrical contractors and architects—the new system has increased efficiency, and ultimately, profitability, by allowing more informed allocation and scheduling of manpower in line with actual delivery guidelines.

“We have been using the Sonelight software package on a large scale lighting project”, says Dan Kelly of Mehl Electric, a contractor company since 1956, customer of Sonepar USA. “In the past, we have always asked our supply houses for order/delivery status sheets on a weekly basis. This new software takes it a step further with real-time tracking ability. Knowing how delivery dates are constantly changing, being able to get entire order updates on a daily basis is critical. This helps all parties involved so that everyone knows approximate ship dates as well as where the equipment is being shipped from. Sonelight is the most concise and complete account of order status that we have seen, and we continue to be very impressed with it.”
