More than 10,000 clients have opted for the e-payment solution
Bert Batenburg, Credit manager
Last March, Technische Unie surpassed the 10,000-client mark for its e-invoicing and payment option. Credit manager Bert Batenburg fully expects this figure to swell in the years ahead.

Saving time and money “Our clients are increasingly aware of the advantages of this payment method, which include lower bank fees and fewer administrative tasks to perform”, says Bert Batenburg. Small businesses were immediately won over by the opportunity for dual savings – time and money – that the solution procures. Mid-market firms and corporations were naturally more sensitive to the cost issue. “Just make a list of the tasks you would no longer have to perform if you no longer processed your bills manually,” says Bert Batenburg to clients. “The combination of automated invoice issuance and payment is naturally very efficient. These invoices are generated on the basis of orders placed electronically, which means the margin of error is zero. The client no longer has to input data, because invoices are electronically delivered directly to the database.”
Target: 100% of clients will adopt automated payment So far, 48 percent of Technische Unie’s clients have adopted the e-payment system, and they account for 28 percent of total sales. “We can still improve the performance standard,” explains Bert, who is convinced that “in fact, there is room for improvement in the system as we move toward our goal of 100% e-billing and payment.” Thanks to efforts on the part of TU’s agencies, 10,000 clients are already using the system, and Bert is grateful to them for promoting the solution with regular and new clients alike.
In the near future, Technische Unie plans to send out a mass mailing that lists the many benefits of e-invoicing and payment.
