Development & changes in the warehouse management
Since 2005 Piotr has been successfully managing the central warehouse in Katowice, that was relocated to Chorzów in 2006. Piotr has been developing the usage of new technologies in the warehouse and logistics management. At the same time he succeeded in building an effective and cooperative team of workers.
Fast development of Alfa Elektro between 2005 and 2008 involved many intensive and significant changes in the warehouse base.
In 2005 Piotr was one of the initiators of computer terminals and bar code system usage in running the warehouse. The bar code system was successfully implemented in the warehouse under the supervision of Piotr and then in 2006 adapted for all Alfa Elektro  branches. This implementation involved subsequent stages of the warehouse logistics development. After all the warehouses had to keep pace with the company’s growing turnover and increasing number of sales branches.

The second central warehouse of Alfa Elektro
In 2006 the board of Alfa Elektro decided to build a second central warehouse in the North of Poland, in Lubicz. Even though the project of the new central warehouse was created by an external company, all the assumptions and guidelines were prepared by the team leaded by Piotr Kurzawski. What’s more the execution and start-up of the new warehouse was also supervised by Piotr and his co-workers.

Relocation of the central warehouse from Katowice to Chorzów
In 2007 the final decision about moving the central warehouse from Katowice to Chorzów was made, so Piotr’s team had to face a real challenge. The new center in logistics park in Chorzów was presumed to be ready to operate in autumn 2007. It was not much time to organize a modern warehouse with the area of 6000 m2 only by Alfa Elektro team.
Thanks to Piotr and his team, the new warehouse was put into operation within the time. Moreover, all the inventory and equipment were moved to the new place within a couple of days, almost without breaking the schedule of deliveries to the branches. This operation was a very significant logistic achievement for the team.

An effective warehouse & logistics center
The central warehouse is an entirely modern center serving 22 (out of 37) branches and providing 24 hour delivery system. The modern equipment, as well as the warehouse structure fitted to the company’s needs ensures that Alfa Elektro effectively meets the customers' demands. Thank to that the company’s offer covers a full range of electrical equipment containing almost 18 000 of SKU.
