This past summer, 120 counter salespeople and regional directors came together for a conference at the CGE D Distribution central warehouse in Moissy-Cramayel.
For the first time ever, CGE D staged two days of central warehouse tours and workshops to inform and educate its sales teams.
The members of the CGE D management company, accompanied by Marketing Director Richard Chéry and Philippe Colinet, head of Internal Communication at Sonepar France, were there to exchange views with the counter sales force.
The conference was kicked off with a plenary session in the morning. In the afternoon, the counter salespeople get a chance to tour the entire central warehouse with the logistics team. By the way, they were impressed with the 323,000 sq. feet of floor space and the potential of the equipment available to them.
During the afternoon, workshops were held on major strategic issues, while things like the web CGE D, an online catalogue accessible 24/24, 7/7, the cable severing tool were presented.
Since a considerable share of sales is carried out at branch counters today, it was worth emphasizing how important a part counter salespeople play and how much they contribute to branch operations. When sales policy is consistently monitored and products are highlighted at branches, revenue tends to go up.
Counter salespeople from all the local branches were thus given a clear view of the vast resources made available to them to guarantee successful sales activity. And the 2-day conference has already had positive fallout since it was held, as demonstrated by the rising volume of orders to the central warehouse.
