Sonepar expanding: external growth in the U.S.
|
Crawford Electric Supply Company, Ltd. (CESCO) joined Sonepar USA on January 1, 2007.
Founded in 1986, this company based in Dallas, Texas primarily supplies electrical equipment to commercial contractors. 200 associates are working at four locations.
One of the most densely populated States in the Union, Texas has experienced extremely strong population growth over the past 20 years. This population influx has given rise to a booming electric equipment market that CESCO has been successful in leveraging.
The company will continue to be run by founder Craig Levering and his team.
Stuart Irby expands its footprint in the utilities sector by buying out a distributor and a service provider.
Founded in 1919, Burmeister Electric Company is a distributor of equipment to electric power utilities with four branches and about 30 associates. The company is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
High Voltage Testing Laboratories specialize in testing and distributing products used by firms that install and maintain high-voltage equipment.
Including these two transactions, Stuart Irby has made a total of five acquisitions since September 2005.
Last of all, Fairview Electric Supply, a single-branch distributor based in Fairview, New Jersey, became part of Cooper Electric Supply on January 1, 2007. As a result, Cooper now has a total of 30 branches.
