The 22nd SLO Electrical Spring Fair took place at the new modern Lahti Hall of Lahti Fair Centre on 23-24 May 2007. This traditional annual event - that SLO puts together as a joint venture with the electrical business sector and suppliers - caters for electrical contractors, network builders, electrical and telecom companies as well as maintenance experts in industry.
Possibilities offered by sustainable development and the challenges it poses for the electrical business were this year's themes at the Spring Fair. It is time to realise that sustainable development is no longer mere highfaluting thoughts of the few but a rapidly developing business sector in its own right.
SLO's own sustainable development programme carries the name Blueway. Products that are produced and can be used in an environmentally friendly way - and thus support sustainable development - are given priority in the product selection process. Products that have a clear environmentally friendly profile we promote to our Blueway-selection.
An integral part of the Spring Fair is the product exhibition, which has - through the years - grown into an important trade fair event as well as a display engine for the electrical sector's novelty products. The industry itself has also taken note of this and in 2007 the number of supplier and manufacturer exhibitions was at an all time high. During the two days of the Fair, almost 1,500 professionals visited the over 100 displays on show.
