Technische Unie has a lot to offer the industrial market in terms of products, logistics, and information. ‘More and more, our possibilities for MRO and OEM are being recognised and acknowledged’, Industry coordinator Leo van Driel states. ‘In order to continue to advance this process, we are making a point to focus on industry this year.’
At trade fairs, Technische Unie is using the slogan ‘Technische Unie, your know-how’ to distinctively portray itself as the quintessential partner for industry. In June, the organization will assume a prominent position during Europe’s cutting-edge trade fair for industrial maintenance, the Industrial Maintenance event in Rotterdam. ‘We will be offering interested visitors a free MRO scan among other things’, Leo van Driel explains. ‘Working together with clients, we use a checklist to take stock of what Technische Unie has to offer for their specific situation, and how we can help them design their process even more efficiently.’
Earlier this year, Technische Unie participated in the MOCON (machine building) and IAS (business and factory automation) trade fairs. Both generated a considerable number of serious leads that are currently being pursued.
Internet plays a crucial role in communication with the industrial market. Leo van Driel: ‘Special attention is continuously paid to Industry on our site. Also, we will shortly launch the Industrial mini site, which is a sub-site devoted to industry-related topics for MRO and OEM. In addition to Internet, our promotional magazine Technoscoop is also an important medium’.
Transfer of knowledge, too, is another aspect that Technische Unie feels strongly about. ‘In cooperation with Siemens, our Training Centre offers industrial clients specially designed training programmes. Furthermore, our sales offices regularly organize workshops on specific industrial topics, together with Moeller, Siemens, ABB and Schneider.’
During the past months, every office has segmented its existing as well as potential industrial clients to the utmost degree. Financial reporting, too, has vastly improved. ‘There is nothing left standing in our way’, Leo van Driel says. ‘This year, we will firmly establish Technische Unie as the leading industrial wholesaler!’
