Son@cademySonepar’s corporate university

Son@cademy, Sonepar’s corporate university, was founded in 2005 for the following purposes:

  • Support training and development work carried out by country organizations
  • Enable the group to meet its internal and external growth targets by anticipating market trends—among customers and suppliers—and technology trends.

At the same time, the group’s 34 country organizations play a direct, active role themselves, especially in providing business-specific training. The fact that such courses are given in the local language and setting makes them even more effective.

For this reason, Son@cademy directly trains executives and associates involved in international working groups, covering subjects such as intercultural understanding and effective teamwork. But the bulk of its work consists in identifying the most valuable training modules and concepts in the various subsidiaries and making them available to the rest of the group.

Thus, whenever a training need or issue seems relevant to several countries, Son@cademy develops a general module, drawing on in-house or sometimes external expertise. By giving the different countries access to this standard, Son@cademy helps to forge a common language.

Because business is the product of men and women, the human factor and Human Resources management – the number one concern and responsibility of each of our companies – is very important. The group, electrical material distributor, must ensure that managers know and develop their human resources so that they can contribute to the growth of the group’s potential. The Group Director of Human Resources presents the career opportunities offered within the group.
