In the second part of our series celebrating Sonepar’s associates around the world, we're talking to five more members of our global team about their experiences being part of the Sonepar family. 

Eva Stříteská is one of the newest arrivals at Sonepar Czech Republic. 

What has been your favorite moment while working at Sonepar? "I've been working at Sonepar for only about five months, but I'm enjoying every single day here. If I had to describe the best moment, then it would be the moment I realized that on Sunday evenings I actually look forward to going to work on Monday morning."

Tell us one thing you love about working at Sonepar. "It's definitely the people. I can rely on the people I work with and I know that they trust in my abilities."

Tell us something that feels different about working at Sonepar. "What was really unexpected for me was to arrive in the Sonepar company atmosphere. Our top management trusts all the associates and encourages us to come up with new ideas. That's something I find very different."

Andy Whong is a Business Development Manager at Vallen Malaysia. He's been with the company for six years. 

What has been your favourite moment while working at Sonepar / Vallen? "The best moment from my time at Vallen was when my team and I opened our new office in the Kuala Lumpur area, as I had been working remotely from our Penang headquarters for some time before that. This was a big achievement for me, as it was a symbol of the success we'd achieved at Vallen in Malaysia."

Tell us one thing you love about working at Vallen. "I love Vallen because our team always works as a family. They are caring and helpful and that makes me feel motivated to get the job done as effectively as possible."

Tell us something that feels different about working at Vallen. "The company mindset really resonated with me from the start because I firmly believe that the most successful companies are built on both dedication and a fun environment."

Jim Beall is an eCommerce Specialist at the Sonepar company Irby in the USA. He’s been with Irby for 57 years.

Fifty-seven years with Irby – congratulations! What's been your favorite moment? "In the ’80s, I developed programs where we could enter customer orders and print the shipping tickets instead of writing them by hand. I’m also proud of reaching 50 years with Sonepar/Irby in 2012."

Tell us one thing you love about working there. "I relish the challenge of working with associates solving challenges, creating opportunities and developing ideas."

Tell us something that feels different about working at Sonepar. "Sonepar is a global company with associates who are experienced and very knowledgeable in all of their fields."

Julia Aigner is one of the Project Managers at Sonepar Deutschland. 

What has been your favorite moment while working at Sonepar? "I love our events, especially our fairs – they are weekends full of new products, technologies and other highlights. It’s a great place to meet customers, suppliers and colleagues from the all over the country."

Tell us one thing you love about working at Sonepar. "We are in a time of rapid changes, with various projects and assignments. Sonepar is a company where I can contribute my creativity and ideas in different projects. I like the interesting, varied fields of activity in my daily work, the self-responsibility and the attractive prospects for personal development."

Tell us something that feels different about working at Sonepar. "The people working at Sonepar make Sonepar unique. I enjoy working with nice colleagues in a good working environment. But, besides the professional level, there are also the social aspects, such as when we compete together in company runs or other sports events."

Attila Steszli is an IT Manager at Sonepar Magyarország (Hungary). He’s been with the company for 15 years.

What has been your favorite moment while working at Sonepar? "Instead of highlighting just one moment, here are some numbers I want to remember in 2019: 50th anniversary of Sonepar, 20th anniversary of Sonepar in Hungary, 15th anniversary of my joining Sonepar – what a great hat trick!"


Tell us one thing you love about working there. "Sonepar has grown rapidly in the past and become a heterogeneous organization with valuable results. This colorful, diverse environment encourages me to learn and to think boldly and differently day-by-day."

Tell us something that feels different about working at Sonepar. "Although we are a huge international group, the autonomy of the local management is always ensured. This means local solutions can be provided for local markets, with the knowledge of the Group always there to support us."
