Sonepar Brazil decided to change the use of their corporate car fleet, typically used by the commercial teams and external salespeople to visit customers.
Given the expansion of COVID-19 in the country, Sonepar Brazil has implemented a plan to ensure the safety of all associates and the business continuity.
In addition to the fast mobilization to allow the commercial and administrative teams to work remotely, there was a great concern about the logistics operations teams, whose activities are essentially on-site. Several protection and prevention measures were adopted, such as the mandatory use of masks, the use of hydroalcoholic gel and the daily monitoring of associates’ temperature. However, there was still an issue with their commuting to work, as many associates took public transport as they could not work remotely.
Sonepar Brazil decided to change the use of their corporate car fleet, typically used by the commercial teams and external salespeople to visit customers. These vehicles were made available for the logistics teams. A study was made to optimize a car-pooling scheme that allowed associates to ride together, whilst wearing using masks and respecting security measures. This approach was adopted by all OpCos: 12 branches, 42 vehicles with 160 employees benefiting from this scheme. .
Thanks to everyone's efforts and dedication, Sonepar Brazil remains in operation, allowing important sectors of society to continue operating.
