Gaurav Sharma, VP of eCommerce and Digitalization for Sonepar Canada recently gave an interview on how the company and business market has changed during the COVID-19 pandemic and how his team has adapted to the situation.

On digitalization and how the company changed its functionalities,  Gaurav said, “Utilization of our digital channels, including web and mobile, has gone up significantly, were experiencing three times the online traffic volume compared to the months prior and the number of customers wanting to create online accounts has also more than doubled in many cases.”

On how his team has grown accustomed to their new way of working, Sharma said, “Fortunately, the corporate crisis hasn't been disruptive to our digital operations. Being digital, we were accustomed to working remotely to begin with, but now we've been extensively using Microsoft Teams video chat, which is shaping a whole new way for us to communicate and collaborate. In fact, our team engagement and productivity has been quite high. Not having to commute, these people can dedicate more time to focus on their deliverables, and the team has done a great job so far of adapting to changing priorities and developing new solutions to improve our overall customer journey as well as building new functionality that opens us to market segments that we were not targeting previously.
