Six Bold Commitments to Make Our Purpose Concrete

Sonepar’s Purpose is rooted in its core activities through six impactful, group-wide bold commitments, engaging associates and stakeholders around common initiatives and goals.

To coordinate Purpose initiatives globally and infuse Purpose at all levels of the organization, Sonepar created a Purpose Board composed of 23 active members representing all regions and functions.

Continuous Education

By 2028, Sonepar intends to provide annual sustainability training for all associates. Our salesforce will be the best-trained in the electrical distribution industry to promote sustainable solutions.

Sustainable Customer Journey

By 2028, Sonepar intends to provide each customer with the lowest CO₂ alternative for every quotation.

Product Circularity

By 2028, Sonepar intends to use 100% packaging from recycled materials and recycle 100% of products returned to Sonepar by customers.

Inclusivity

By 2028, Sonepar aims to foster an inclusive and safe environment for all associates, ensuring fairness, based on merit and our sustainable performance culture.

Communities

By 2028, Sonepar intends to create the Sonepar Powering Community Program in every country in which it operates. This program will create and support dedicated education programs in its ecosystem, provide opportunities to vulnerable people, and offer aid after natural disasters.

Colam Family Sharing

As of 2024, Colam Entreprendre will share value creation by expanding the annual grant of free shares to all Sonepar associates.

Product Circularity: Sonepar Partners with Nexans

We’re proud to partner with Nexans to bring their CABLELOOP initiative to our branches, helping our customers to recycle cable waste and contribute together to a more circular economy.

Continuous Education: Cebeo’s Academy guides Energy Transition

Cebeo’s Academy equips associates and customers with the latest sustainability insights, enabling them to promote sustainable solutions.

Inclusivity: Mexico is Building a More Inclusive Future

In Mexico, disability is a multifaceted issue affecting approximately 8 million individuals. Of these, nearly 40% are of working age but lack access to employment opportunities where they can thrive. Alcione's project, Inclusive Energy, aims to address this challenge by promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace. Their initial goal is to ensure that 5% of their associates are individuals with disabilities.

Communities: Supporting the Employability of Young People in India

In India, we built a longstanding partnership with Hope Foundation, established in 1991 and now active across the country. Together, Sonepar supports young people, especially women, in accessing nursing assistant training for better job opportunities and an improved educational environment. By supporting the employability of vulnerable young people, Sonepar is helping communities create lasting pathways for the next generation.
