Sonepar’s Expanded Distribution Center Strengthens Logistics Across Switzerland

02.09.2026

In August 2026, Sonepar has officially inaugurated its fully expanded Central Distribution Center (CDC) in Wallisellen, Switzerland, marking the successful completion of a major logistics project.

The CDC has been operational since 2020, and over the years, it has progressively expanded to support the evolving needs of our customers and our business. Today, it stands at the heart of Sonepar’s national logistics network in Switzerland, serving customers across the country with greater reliability, flexibility, and quality.

The completion of the final expansion phase brings the project to its full operational capacity. The facility now features:

  • 10,000 m² of storage space across three levels
  • An AutoStore system with 55,000 bins and 70 robots
  • A fully automated high-bay warehouse with 6,000 pallet locations

Designed with sustainability in mind, the extension follows the same principles as the original building. Constructed using timber and equipped with photovoltaic panels, the CDC combines advanced automation, optimized processes, and sustainable infrastructure to support our long-term development.

"This inauguration is a special moment for Sonepar in Switzerland. Behind this project are several years of planning, collaboration, and commitment. I would like to express my sincere thanks to all employees, partners, and project teams who contributed to its success. Together, we are shaping the future of Sonepar and ensuring that we continue to support our customers in the best possible way" said Raphael Maier, President Sonepar in Switzerland.

The inauguration ceremony brought together guests from the electrical industry and local political representatives. Visitors were given guided tours to gain insights into the technologies and processes that keep the operation running.
