Sonepar is strengthening its position in the Brazilian market following a round of four acquisitions.
Sonepar has been operating in Brazil since 2001 through three operating companies – Nortel, Dimensional, and Eletronor, and is the country's leader in B2B distribution of electrical products, solutions, and related services.
In recent months Sonepar has signed four deals for authorized Rockwell distributors in Brazil. Each brings decades of experience in industrial automation.
Ladder and Intereng, acquired from the Edge Group, operate complementarily across strategic regions such as São Paulo, Baixada Santista, Vale do Paraíba, the interior of São Paulo state, Rio de Janeiro, Mato Grosso do Sul, and southern Minas Gerais.
With highly qualified technical teams and strong regional presence, they will contribute to the expansion of Sonepar’s operations in Brazil, growing its customer base and reinforcing its position in the industrial segment.
JAV Automação Industrial (JAV) is known for its strong presence across Brazil’s main industrial regions, operating in Santa Catarina, Paraná, São Paulo, Bahia, Pará, Maranhão, and Amazonas. The company is reputed for its technical expertise, customer proximity, and service excellence.
Lastly, Macrotec, headquartered in Belo Horizonte (Minas Gerais), is recognized for its strong presence across Brazil’s main industrial regions, operating in Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo.
"We look forward to welcoming them into our organization and are confident that this step will strengthen Sonepar’s position and enhance our offering across the Brazilian market.”
Yannick Laporte - President South America
The deals mark another key milestone in Sonepar’s South American growth strategy, deepening our industrial automation capabilities in one of the region’s fastest-evolving segments.
The transactions are subject to approval from the Brazilian antitrust authority (CADE), with the companies continuing to operate independently until clearance is obtained.
