Elektroskandia Sweden Rebrands as Sonepar

06.05.2025

A historic transformation for Elektroskandia Sverige AB

Elektroskandia Sweden has changed its name, bolstering its position as leader in B2B distribution of electrical equipment, solutions, and services in Sweden. This strategic move marks a new chapter for Elektroskandia Sverige, which has been a cornerstone of the Swedish electrical distribution market since 1904. With over 40,000 products in stock and a comprehensive network of branches across the country, the company has consistently led innovation in electrical distribution.

Rebranding as Sonepar underscores the perfect alignment between Elektroskandia, acquired by Sonepar in 2008, and the Group's identity, vision, mission and Purpose. This transition reflects seventeen years of successful integration and shared values, positioning the company to leverage global resources while maintaining its strong local presence.

Strengthening global leadership through unity

The Sonepar brand identity also reaffirms the company's values, fully shared through the entire Group, driving Sonepar's mission as a business: making our customers' lives easier every day by providing products, logistics and solutions to construction companies, industries and utility organizations across the world. This unified approach enables seamless access to advanced digital platforms, innovative technologies, and sustainable solutions that define the future of electrical distribution.

The official name change was celebrated on May 6 in Göteborg, Sweden to an audience of 400 guests, including representatives from the electrical industry, customers and suppliers. President Sonepar Europe Jérôme Malassigne, President Sonepar Nordics Anders Nordlöw, and other Group leaders were among attendees. The event, held at World of Volvo, showcased the company's commitment to innovation and sustainable energy solutions.

Building on great resources and local excellence

Anders Nordlöw said the rebrand would strengthen and clarify the company's position as part of a global group and the world's largest electrical wholesaler. The timing aligns perfectly with the company's digital transformation and sustainability initiatives, including significant investments in logistics and customer service capabilities.

"As Sonepar Sweden, our goal is to continue growing, with a strong local presence and with our customers in focus," he said. "By adopting Sonepar as our new brand identity, it will enable our company to project an updated and modern image to all of Sonepar's stakeholders. Far more than just a badge, our brand signifies who we are, how we behave and what makes our business so distinct and unique."

Embracing global market evolution

For Jérôme Malassigne, meanwhile, the name change reflects evolving customer needs and market developments, particularly in the rapidly growing sectors of renewable energy and smart building technologies.

"In a globalized and digitized world, it becomes increasingly important to have a strong brand for increased visibility and trust, regardless of the market Together with Sonepar Finland and Norway, this strengthens our position in Scandinavia, while we obviously gain a stronger position towards European customers and suppliers."

"Adopting the Sonepar brand means that the Swedish organization is now even more fully integrated into the Sonepar group, and with this, we will be able to increase our market presence," Jérôme Malassigne concluded. This integration enables faster adoption of best practices and innovations across the global network.

Looking ahead: a seamless transition

The transition to the Sonepar brand in Sweden will take place gradually over the next 12 months. This careful approach ensures that Elektroskandia Sverige AB's legacy of excellence continues seamlessly under the Sonepar banner. The company remains committed to leveraging its extensive network of resources and expertise to deliver superior service to customers across Sweden.

The rebranding process includes comprehensive training programs for employees, updated digital platforms, and enhanced customer communication channels. These initiatives will ensure continuity of service while introducing new capabilities and solutions to the market.
