Sonepar announces the completion of the divestment of Sonepar Norway to Solar, a leading European sourcing and services company specializing in electrical, heating and plumbing, ventilation and climate, and energy solutions. Sonepar entered the Norwegian market in 1999 through the acquisition of OTRA NV, later rebranded as Sonepar Norway. Over the years, Sonepar Norway has grown to operate 13 branches and employs around 115 associates, delivering electrical products and digital services across the country.
As a responsible and forward-looking shareholder, Sonepar believes this transition will provide Sonepar Norway with new momentum under Solar’s ownership. Solar is well positioned to support the continued development and profitable growth of the Norwegian business.
The closing follows approval by the Norwegian antitrust authority. Effective immediately, Sonepar Norway becomes part of Solar, and both companies will work together to ensure a smooth transition for customers and partners.
